If you were to state what your problem and programs are we may be of help to you. Most issues with Vista are the programs and/or hardware are to old.

Have you READ the FIRST few threads at the top of the list here in the Vista threads?

Well the one major problem you are going to run into while trying to downgrade to XP is driver availability. Check the manufacturers site to make sure they have XP drivers for all your devices (video, network, sound, etc.) Also, some attached devices that were designed for Vista (i.e. Bluetooth) will no longer work with XP installed.

But before you go through all that, DaveA is correct. Some information about the actual programs would be helpful. Also, have you checked those programs for updates? Most programs these days have built in update features in them.
