Computer won't wake to run task.
I have an anti-virus software that I like to run in the early morning when I am not on for it takes a long time to scan and slows my computer down. I have set it to run at 4 a.m. every wednesday. Yet, when I put my computer to sleep the program does not scan.
So I went into task schedular to set it so that it will wake the computer to run. I go to the scheduled task that refers to this program and then I open the properties. I set it to wake the computer and a few other settings. I press ok and it keeps my settings. Yet, when I close task schedular and open it back up it has reset my settings. How can I get it to keep my settings, it is doing this with all of my tasks.

Wake up settings must be set in the bios to begin with under Power Management, then in Windows for scheduling.

I checked the BIOS. I don't have power management. But I have a power tab. Yet, under it is what to do if I lose AC power (keep off or turn back on) and a Visulazation technology option.

Sorry I can't help...I can see manuals but nothing I can find shows the bios screens which any normal mobo manual would show....it has to be there but if only these makers would publish decent manuals we could help better.

Can anyone help me out here. I have gone through the whole bios and and nothing that even remotely relates to my problem is there. Another idea- Is there any free software that I can get that will wake my computer according to a schedule. Or is there a way I can make task manager just wake the computer and not run anything. This way I can set it to wake 5 min or so before my anti-virus software is scheduled to run.
