Exclamation Solved: Remote Desktop Connection Help Unsolved!
I need to know how to shutdown the remote computer from using Remote Desktop Connection. I connected XP from school to my home computer Vista Business. But when I'm connected through Remote Desktop Connection I can't see the shutdown Button from the Start Menu, all I see is Logoff, and Disconnect. How do I shutdown my machine remotely?

You don't get that option, that I have seen, when using Remote Desktop Connection.

What if you created a one click shutdown shortcut on the desktop of your remote pc?

You can alway go into a command prompt and use the shutdown command:

shutdown -s

Chow2rich,

Here is what works for me.
Inside the remotely connected machine - click the start button and click on Windows Security right above the Disconnect and Lock PC buttons.

This brings up the screen that resembles the logon screen.. in the bottom right hand corner you should see the red shutdown button (click the small up arrow for other choices such as restart.etc)

Bravoloand,

How do I get Windows Security Option from classic view, if I was in classic view? Your help is appreciated, thanks.

Easiest way to shutdown or reboot the Remote Desktop Connection is to go to Full Screen Mode and hit ALT+F4...you will be prompted to Shutdown, Restart, etc
