Windows Security Alerts
I have AVG Free Edition and my Windows Secuirty Alert system no longer sees it as of today. What could have caused this to happen? All along it was fine until today it poped up, and it pops up every time the computer is on. Please help!! Thanks.

I'm assuming, there is a Security Center warning icon in your taskbar, right?
If you're sure, AVG is working properly, if you go to Control Panel>Security Center, under Malware Protection, it says that "Windows did not find antivirus software on this computer." Below that it gives you two options: I have antivirus software that I'll monitor myself; or the option to not monitor my antivirus software state.
Check first option, and you'll be good to go.

Avg is supposedly compatible with Vista but in so many cases after operating ok for a while it fails to update, the email scanner fails and there are various issues. If you want free uninstall that and try Avira (www.avira.com)

I had version 7.5, updated to 8.0 and it is fine apparently even if you reinstall it dont work. You have to have the latest version or it does not detect it at all. I did not know, well hopefully this helps someone else out there running AVG with Vista. Thanks guys!
