hey all

I recently installed vista (x64) on my 4600+ dualcore with 2 gigs of ram and a geforce 6800GT gfxcard

now I installed the latest drivers for my graphicscard but I still find some things very slow.
For example when scrolling a webpage in firefox it really lags behind a lot, same when trying to resize a window. I tried disabling aero and just running the classic windows theme and that made the scolling in the browser much faster but resizing windows was still slow, even slower than before infact.

Could it be some sort of setting in the nvidia controlpanel or is it simply a matter of bad openGL drivers from nvidia?

Chipset drivers (and the drivers for any integrated devices) should have come from the PC manufacturer's (or motherboard manufacturer's) web site. Sometimes the driver for an integrated device has to be modified to work in the particular system so if you (or Windows) gets it from elsewhere it may give unpredictable problems. If you haven't already, download the latest chipset drivers and other drivers that the PC (or motherboard) manufacturer has and install them; chipset drivers first.

There are no drivers for my chipset (nforce3) available from the motherboard section on MSIs website, I already installed the vista driver for my NIC but that didnt make any difference.

I just found that if I keep moving a window around for a while to start off with its sluggish, then after a while it becoms fast, then if i leave it for a while and then start moving it again it becomes slow, maybe it's something to do with the GPU slowing down after some time of inactivity?

does anyone know if vista has such a feature and if it can be turned off?
