sp1 not showing up in windows update
When I try to update my vista I do not get a sp1? Is there a reason for this? I have been told I might not have the right drivers. If that is the case what can I do to get sp1 or am I out of luck?

Make sure you have updated any of the known problematic drivers. Most should be available from Winup.

You should be able to update most of them through the computer vendor's web page for your model.

Alternately, if you know the motherboard vendor, go there.

Windows update may have some as well. Generally it will notify you of some, such as chipset drivers and NIC drivers.

Also, if you have any language packs that were not included with the original version of Vista, you cannot update to SP1 yet. Supposedly, there is a version coming out to fix that.

Should be out by the time Vista hits service pack 12.
