vista hates me and its not nice
well i tryed installing some games on it they work well (for a laptop which i cant remember specs for may get them up soon) but for some random reason (unless is a "ghost") it boots up in the night with no prompting no button pressing or anything. its not in sleep or standby. i know that the easy option is take out the battery but sometimes im too lazy.

any answers or am i alone in this ghostly boot up problem?

For lack of a better explaination, check the network card propterties and shut of 'Wake on Lan'. You may also find this setting in the BIOS.

How do you connect to the internet, since your profile shows a "512 mb/s netgear router"?

Give us the make and model of this laptop?

If it is a new machine that came with Vista I am sure that it has a built in net card and wireless card.
