Question Help deleting folder!
Hi Everyone!

I'm having an issue I can't figure out.

I went into my Videos folder to delete a folder I no longer needed. So, I right-clicked the folder; the contextual menu popped up; and, I selected "Delete."

The folder disappeared immediately; no confirmation window popped up; and, the folder never appeared in the Recycle Bin. I checked the free space on my hard drive, and it hadn't increased.

Any thoughts on what happened?

Please help!

Thanks!

Check again and be sure it is not still in the folder somewhere. Search for one of the files that was in the folder.

I searched both visually and with the search feature. All I found were a few shortcuts from the Recent Items side menu. That's it.

Nothing else to be found.

Are there any programs I can use that could search recently deleted items?

Anyone have any thoughts as to why the 60gb folder I deleted didn't appear in the Recycle Bin; and, no free space was increased after the "deletion?"

Try this it creates a folder of recently deleted items for recovery. Of course you don't need to recover it.

If there was NOT much in the folder then the free space would not change much. Also it appears that your deletion went straight to "bit Heaven" as if you have held the shift key, which will bypass the recycle bin, and NO traces of the folder will be found.

Hmm, I didn't know that. Perhaps I held the key down w/out realizing.

@ lildragon, thanks! I'll check this out when I get home.

Sorry but PC Inspector is not compatible with Vista. I have used it with prior Windows OS but just noticed that it doesn't work with Vista. Anyway here's another one you can try. Any file recovery software would probably work.
