Solved: How do you remove the information bar?
I have followed MS instructions for downloads and active-x but that does not remove the information bar.

Currently the information bar says "my current security settings put my computer at risk. Click here to change your security settings"

I set the settings - I don't want to change them and I don't want to be reminded with the information bar. I want it completely gone.

Because embedded music on a webpage was not playing, a separate issue, I kept adjusting secuirty settings.
Tools->Internet Options->Security Tab->Custom Level Button.

Finally, I adjusted it from default (medium-high) by just lowering it to medium. Letting IE7 change whatever it changes. The embedded music players were now visable (being a red X before) and play as the websites were designed to do. And I haven't been bothered by the Information Bar whatsoever.

Every zone, other than Internet zone was left at the default level. I left enable protected mode checked on each of the 4 zones: Internet. Local Intranet. Trusted Sites. Restricted Sites. While it is still checked off in Internet Options, in the IE7 status bar, it says proteced mode is off.

So, if you are being bothered by an "overly protective" Information Bar, this is how to get rid of it. If you have anti-virus, firewall and malware protection, you should be OK. No guarantees. If you are not comfortable with these settings, you can fix them by simply clicking the default button and putting them back. But I know I am much happier knowing that the pages function as written and not being nagged by the Information Bar.

Incidently, many times, embedded music is annoying - an easy way to stop it from playing is to press the ESC key or Stop Button.

Not sure how to interpret answer to removing information bar. Where did the embedded music subject come in?
Anyway, I likewise wish to remove the information bar. I do not wish to lower security settings or anything else. I WANT IT GONE FROM MY COMPUTER.
Does anyone know how this can be accomplished? The Registry???
Thanks in advance,
Lynn

Music came into the thread because that was what led to me adjusting
settings and getting rid of the info bar.

But...and I don't know why...the info bar is back anyway. Have not
found a way to delete it, nor permanently disable it.
