I hate Windows Vista. It was the worst investment I ever made. Getting that off my chest, my computer just crashed on me. Thank the lord I have an xp I am sending this on....I went to turn on my computer (vista) and first in said loading windows files and then an error message came up:
Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or cd-romthat is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.

What does all this mean????? I got the computer January 07'

Could be a bad hard drive.

Boot from the DVD and run Startup Repair.

Do yuo have Vista recovery disk or installation disk. If so, you can boot to cd drive and use the tools available under repair your computer. This will rule out you cd drive as the problem leaving the hard drive ans USB external storage as the candidates.

Happened to me once, I simply rebooted the computer a few times.

Also, if you treat Vista well it tends to have less problems than XP which failed on me daily.

Note; Vista Ultimate 64 & Vista Home Premium 32 user and glad for it.
