Deleting Internet info
How do i delete all of my web sites Iv visited? I have windows vista basic and IE 11. I know I can go to tools, and then delete that browsing history, but does that completely delete it all?

Im a parent and my kid is 16, and he is a 'geek with computers', while I dont know much. I dont want him getting onto the things I do, if you know what I mean.

Thank you,
Martin.

You are amazing! Microsoft hasn't even issued IE8 yet!
Sounds like what you might mean is that you have IE7 and Windows Media Player 11?

Tools->Internet Options->Browsing History->Delete->Delete All

I personally do not go that route, I prefer a freeware called CCleaner. You have a long checklist of items that it will clean up for you.

http://www.ccleaner.com/

Also, you can use the Diskcleaner that comes with Vista for a few more places to clean.

Does this delete ALL of it, or is there anyother ways of finding out what iv been on?

Thanks,

It would really depend on your definition of ALL.

For all practical purposes CCleaner is a better choice to get rid of more items. But if law enforcement decided to look at your hard drive, the answer is no. There are so many places that Vista keeps track of stuff that does not get cleaned out. For any normal, everyday cleaning, you should be OK with Tools/Internet Options.

I just want to know that he cant find what iv been on

Thanks,
J.

If you 2 different user accounts he would need to use his account, any account by default is NOT shared with another. But you can set his account so you have access ti his data. BUT your account MUST be passworded so he can not get into your settings.

When you use ccleaner, uncheck all the items under registry or you could fail to boot next time. This programs is not the safest to use if you are not an experienced user.
