Exclamation Partitioning interrupted - Vista doesnt start
Hi,

I am in this big problem and I would be very glad to hear from you...

I recently got a new laptop with 160GB hard disk with vista premium....I was using paragon partition manager to partition it...The partition process was taking place during the boot time and it was showing an hour remaining.

After sometime the laptop went to sleep and I could see the screen went dark and sleep light turned on...Not knowing if the partition was still happening I pressed the power on button and the laptop started again giving me message that 'Operation interrupted and please insert a recovery disk'. The only thing I can access is the BIOS...

I do not have a recovery disk and niether the vista cd as this was an OEM version pre installed. I had an XP cd which when I put shows the full partition as unformatted space.

From above...what do you think is the best way forward...

Thanks

Does the laptop have a recovery parition with the Vista factory reset image?

You can create a Vista Repair CD which includes all the recovery tools - does not include the actual operating system.

Vista may not be read
Unbiden, thanks for the reply.

I saw that blog link...although I havent tried it yet but my guess is because I was partitioning my disk and the operation got interupted, vista is not being read or it might have been corrupted...

So even if I have a recovery disk...as the underlying vista is corrupt would it still help?

I observed one thing...when I put a bootable XP cd I see 2 partitions...one a service partition created by the manufacturer and other just the whole hard disk space as 'unpartitioned space'

The service partition is probably the partition with the factory restore of Vista. The unpartitioned space is probably the c:drive which is now unreadable. Check your manual, you should be able to engage the restore partition at boot-up by hitting a specific key or key combo; from there you may be able to repair the C:drive. Review below.
