every time i try to open music or computer to view my files only the borders load like this

i've had my computer for a year made it came with vista installed and i come back to my house to use it, going to send a file to my friend then explorer crashes so i go and click computer to see my files and only the border loads nothing inside and the control panel doesn't load ethier it loads the same way borders first then nothing else
