i deleted my "music" folder in windows vista now my itune wont work :(
i need help!!!!
somehow i managed to lose me "music" folder in windows vista.
i was trying to make it so when i opened the music folder it went straight into data D drive so i would have heaps more room to fit all my music.
BUT it changed the name of the music folder into dataD: now my itunes wont work and comes up with "The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder. and alas this folder i do not have anymore. i still have all my itunes and all my music but am unable to open it up from anywhere
So please if anyone can help me with this would be much appreciated.
Is there anyway i can make a Music folder again like the original one you get? i tried just making a normal folder named music but that didnt work at all. PLEASE HELP!!!

Why did you just redirect the entire My Documents folder to the D drive?
Within iTunes Go to Edit>Preferences and to the Advance Tab. From there you can redirect the program to wherever you like.

This is what I do as a matter of good practice. The default location is C:\My Dcouments......... etc.

If you right click the folder and select properties, you will see the full path. You can chnage the C to D and all documents for that profile will be moved to the D drive.

Now, why do this? If the OS necomes corrupt and youlose the OS to anything other than drive failure, you can wipe the C partition and the data is safe.

If this is the path you wish to follow, if would move the target for the Dcos folder and then reinstall iTunes.

This may not be a high tech way to do what you want but I had a similar problem and this is how I stumbled on a fix.

First make sure your new folder(s), now called dataD: does not have any files in it. If so, move those somewhere else for safe keeping. Then delete it. Now open up Windows Media Player (not sure if you have to play music or not), it should recreate a Music folder in the original location. At least it did that on my computer. Hope it works for you, let us know.
