Solved: Problem printing on from internet
My husband got a new gateway with Vista and we set it up on our network to print off of the computer hooked up to my computer. It prints from all of his programs except from the internet.

I'm kind of at a loss as to why it would print everything except from the internet. Does anyone have any ideas. I've tried the microsoft site to see if I could find anyone else with this problem and no luck. I've read a few pages here to see if anyone else has the same problem but didn't find anything. So, I figured I might as well start a new thread.

Thank you in advance...you guys are all great.

Do you get any error messages or what happens when you try to print?

Have you tried highlighting what you want to print and then choose "selection" from the print screen?

Ok when I click either the print icon or file/print it then gives me the print box to like select printer and number of pages etc. so I've made sure that it's on the right printer to print to and then I click ok. It closes as if it's going to start printing....I just noticed that the little printing icon appears at the bottom of the screen in one of those little boxes at the bottom of Internet Explorer. It appears for a few seconds and then disappears and low and behold no printing. No error message ... nothing. It seems as if it's printing but nothing is printed.

I've checked for updates...doesn't help. I've opened the printer tool thing to see if it actually ever gets to that spot. But, it does not. Like I said this is only from the internet. When I print from any other program it works. When I print a test page it works. I can go into the properties of the printer and everything.

I did try to highlight specific info and then print that....it did not work either. I read somewhere to clear out my temp internet files and that didn't do anything.

So, any ideas????

Thanks

Ok after many more reading forums...I found one solution that seems to have worked. So, for anyone else who may have this problem.

Go to internet options in IE7 and then go to security and unclick the protected mode box.

I'm not sure how vulnerable this makes you...but from all the forums I read if you have an anti virus and stuff it shouldn't hurt. I guess I'll find out.

Anyway. Thanks for the responses I got.
