Exclamation BSOD with no text
Hi, I have had alot of BSODs lately... When playing all sorts of MMO games, even trackmania and Americas army. Other is: Rappelz online, tales of pirates, Cabal online,
9 Dragons, Archlord and many more... (not WOW).

But when i really thought it was a critical problem was when i got it when i was surfing the internett and i had just tried out the Deskscapes from stardock. Still no text after crash. But i have gotten this message when i restart my computer.

This problem was caused by an unrecoverable hardware error that caused the operating system to stop functioning.

Troubleshooting

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have received this error more than once, it could indicate a serious problem with your computer. We recommend that you do the following:

Back up your files to avoid data loss in case of a complete hardware failure.
Contact the original manufacturer of your computer to determine the specific component which is failing.
Additional technical information

Although we know the problem is caused by a hardware component, the error report does not contain enough information to tell us the specific component. It is likely that the problem is being caused by one of the following computer components:

Random Access Memory (RAM)
System board
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
Power supply

And this (but there was no text!)

Problem caused by Device Driver

You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused Windows to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer.

More information

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A message appears on a blue screen with error code information (for example: 0x0000001E, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)

Additional steps for you to take
Please continue to send problem reports so analysts at Microsoft can study and try to correct the problem as quickly as possible.

You can test the ram by running mdsched.exe -- but from your description I doubt that's an issue.

I'd think about overheating, either the CPU or the GPU (graphics processor unit).

Is the installed graphics different than what came with the computer?

Speedfan can be a bit buggy in Vista -- but I'd recommend you run it manually and monitor for any rise in temp of more than 35 c from a cold boot. You can review this through its charts window.

Run a game or other program which is likely to result in a freeze and check it.

You were right... Nothing wrong with the memory.
It has the same GPU and CPU as it came with (intergrated motherboard, ATI Radeon Xpress 1100, CPU Intel duo T2080)

When i boot from a cold CPU, on speedfan, it starts at 50C and goes down to 43-47 and stays there. When i started a internet browser it went up too 55C instantly.
I have'nt tried with a geme yet.

But, last time i checked with a game it was on about 75C (I think) it crashed at... the CPU was working on 100% almost all the time...

Thats all the info i got for now.. It has crashed several times after i wrote the first post...

Yeah, 75C is really bad. It should never get that high. It shouldn't even get to 60C.

75 c is a bit borderline -- there may be some stability issues if it is getting into that range.

Systems with integrated graphics are just not meant for serious gaming -- and therein lies the problem I think.

Is this a notebook, by the way? They are usually designed to run hot >> http://users.erols.com/chare/elec.htm

Check the bottom and underside for clogged vents -- blow them out with some compressed air. Consider a notebook cooler -- though I don't really place much confidence in them from personal experience.

You have received a blue screen with dumpcheck data, so let's do this:

1 > create a new folder on the desktop and call it "dumpcheck" or whatever you like
2 > navigate to %systemroot%\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to that folder.%systemroot% is normally c:\windows. They are numbered by date. You can paste that address in address bar to get there.
3 > close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
4 > use the "manage attachments" in the "advanced" reply window to upload that zip file here as an attachment.

This might point us to a non-system driver causing the error, if one exists for it.

Here it is... I still have'nt reached using a game, but the one you got in the previous reply is pretty likely to be the limit.
Yes it is a notebook, and i cannot see anything stuck in the fan area.
By the way, max CPU temp. if my CPU was on 100C, from your link.

Hope you can find the problem now.
Thanks for all the help!

Are those the most recent minidumps? The last are from mid April and indicate a display driver fault.

Also I'm getting an "wrong symbols" response from the debugger when I don't think I should -- have you altered system files in any way -- such as creating a custom logo screen?

I do not get the wrong symbols message from dumps dating 3/11 and prior. Those by the way indicate a bad DirectX install I believe

I deleted some, they who were oldest, i belive. These might be the missing links...
And well the only thing i've replaced was the browseuii.dll, back and forward bottons on Vista. I have tried using some other themes with programs (did'nt work) and with theme files. I am running a theme file now, a Apple Leopard, have'nt done anything else like that.

I belive i got the newest version of DirectX (not 10), but ill try updating.

By the way, i have added a RAM card, that can't have anything with the problem, or?

The 3 recent (May) ones do not show the "symbols" error;

However they are all different and, frankly, I don't know what to make of them

You are going to have to look for a pattern such as intense graphics use or streaming to get more of a clue.

There seems to be a graphics or directx common denominator. Have you ever updated the drivers on your ATI card? Are there any chipset drivers for the motherboard that you have not installed? Windows updates usually offer these when available.

I updated my DirectX yesterday. 1-2 months since i updated the graphic card. I saw at once programs i use alot on my computer on the bugcheck. Trackmania United, that crashed for a week. i have had some crashes when using the IEexplorer, but that was the explorer? hmm... wierd. But the problem might be that RKlauncher takes alot of processors. (I'ts a MAC line in the bottom on vista.)

I'm gonna try to try with a game today. To see how the processors and GPU are taking it.
And i have'nt gotten any messages for a new chipset.

Here are some from today and some that you might have gotten before.
It has crashed ALOT today. But what really annoys me is that when i fire up Cabal (MMORPG) my cpu temp goes from 55-60 to MINUS -27.
And it just exits the game after 10 min.

No 2 are alike

I wonder if you might have a faulty thermal sensor.

Do you have Vista SP1 installed, or this update >>

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940105

Also, are these faults all occuring with online games or do they occur in games or applications not receiving web data?

I'm running Vista home premium ver. 6 (build 6000), and im not sure if it's SP1 or SP2 i belive it's SP2.
I installed the link update. I't looked it could help. I have 1919MB of RAM also 2GB. I belive the graphic card takes about 128MB, yeah it sucks, but i can run the most stuff. I am wondering about buying a better one than ATI radeon xpress 1100, but that's another story.

Yes, almost all has happened with web contact, like MMO. Exept when i tried Deskscapes from Stardock (http://www.stardock.com/products/deskscapes/), let's you run these dream files on ''not ultimates.''
But, then I was also surfing the net
I got another game i will try (ZU-Online), but it need's to be patched. So i did'nt got to try it for some days ago.

If you were able to install that update you probably do not have SP1 (there is no SP2).

You can learn your version by right clicking on My Computer and selecting "properties".

I assume the computer is still under warranty. You should be in contact with the vendor about warranty procedures.
