Are there incoming and outgoing logs for the Vista Firewall that can be viewed?
If so, how do you view them and where are they?

Followed instructions from your links.
I have no "profile" tabs (Quote: Select the appropriate profile tab: Domain Profile,
Private Profile or Public Profile) in properties. ??

I also have no customize button anywhere in properties (Quote: Click the
Customize button).

I have 5 tabs: General (with 2 buttons: Change and Advanced),
Shortcut (with 3 buttons: Open File Location, Change Icon and
Advanced), Security(with 2 buttons:Edit and Advanced) ,
Details (no buttons), Previous Versions (no buttons).

None of the buttons have anything regarding profiles or customize.

Are you sure you followed the correct directions:

1. Click Start, All Programs, and Administrative Tools.
2. Select Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
3. Click Windows Firewall Properties.
4. Click one of the profile tabs, such as Public Profile.
5. Click the Customize button within the Logging area.
6. Enable firewall logging from the dialog box that appears.
7. Click OK

Do you not have something similar to what I do? (perhaps you do have profiles in addition to what I have?)

I see you are using Vista Ultimate; try using the Group Policy Editor and see if you can access the firewall settings and logs. Go to the START orb - type gpedit.msc and hit ENTER.

Going to Windows Firewall via Group Policies was correct. By clicking Properties there, the Public Profile Tab shows up as well as Customization. I can now view logs.

Oddly, they open in Notepad and are not the neat/orderly logs one finds in other firewalls.
But good enough and I appreciate the help.

Be sure to enable 'word wrap' in Notepad and that may help sorting things out.
