Windows defender crashing
Hi, very new to all this but here goes!! When I do a Windows defender scan either full or quick it stops on a certain file c\windows\system32\KBDRO.DLL and crashes the whole computer i can't do anything at all. I can't even do ctrl, alt & del to do a manual shut down so have to turn the power off manually. I have Windows Vista and also as long as i don't do run the scan computer sems fine. Any help will be welcome. Thanks!

My opinion only but Defender is crap anyway! Causes more problems than it is worth!

If you want to stop it operating, go to:

Control Panel
Click on Windows Defender
Click on Tools
... and then Options
Scroll with the arrow on the right hand side of the page down to Administrator Options and uncheck "Use Defender"
POOF, it is gone!

I have to agree with cuttlefish, but you can try restoring with this command. Go to your RUN field under the Start menu and type in SFC /scannow.

What this does is it's supposed to correct any problems that Windows has. I won't guarantee that it will fix your problem, but I have seen it work on a number of occasions so it's possible.
