replacing VISTA with XP SP2
hello forum
i recently bought a HP athlon 64 amd dual processor desktop pc. it came with vista installed. i'd much prefer to work with xp sp2. how would i go about uninstalling vista and replacing it with xp sp2?

First you go to HP's website, go to their support section, look up your PC, and find out if HP lists the full set of XP drivers. If not, you're out of luck. For example, no sound card driver, no sound.

Purchase a copy of XP. Insert the CD and perform a clean install of XP. You will lose everything on the computer now as there is no way to do a downgrade install. You may also have a problem finding XP drivers for the hardware. Make sure you have the HP computer recovery disks before you attempt this. XP may not work on this computer. You may have to restore the computer back to the factory setup.
