Anyone know the answer to this one? HIGH DEFINITION
Hello again everyone,
i am unsure if any of you will know the answer to this one so here goes.

I have a 9 month old baby and want to purchase a High Definition camcorder but i am unsure of when i store the video files from the camcorder to my PC if windows vista can pump out high definition video footage on to my large screen television.

I currently have my computer set up to my 46 inch LCD television and the picture quality is absolutely brilliant but just want to know as to when i save a video file from the camcorder to pc if vista can produce high definition pictures to my television.

Hope some of you understand my question and can give me some advice.

Emma

It can as long as you can set a very high resolution. Plug your computer into the TV if it isn't, then right click on the desktop, click Personalize, once that pops up click Display Settings, then look through all the tabs and options and find Resolution. Once you find it, put it at the highest possible, and tell me what it is.

You will also need a decent graphics card with updated drivers.

For a 46" LCD TV, that is very large, which is bad. If you have any DVD's, just stick them in and see how they look

Your not getting the point i want to know if windows vista can push out HD quality pictures if not it is a waste of time for my self buying a HD CAMCORDER as i would just buy a normal digital camcorder.
DVDs look fine running from my computer but a normal camcorder looks grainy.

Can i ask what do you mean by

Home Basic - I doubt it.
Business - I doubt it.
Home Premium - Yes, if you have the hardware to support it.
Ultimate - Yes, if you have the hardware to support it.

I mean that resolution for such a large television is very bad, not the television's size. Resolution is the number of pixels on your screen, and a lower resolution means less pixels, making everything appear larger and of worse quality.

Basically, no, you currently won't be able to get HD quality without changing some settings first. If you tell me what graphics card you have, I can probably give you a link to the software that will allow you to change your display to HDTV.

Please excuse me for being a dumb blonde but the only information i have is,
Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
not sure if this is what you need.
I am running on a laptop computer so i guess it is a fixed graphics card on the motherboard card.
If this isnt the information where do i look on vista to find that information.

Open the start menu, type dxdiag into the search field, press enter, click the Display tab, and look at what it says in the Name: field under Device. It's probably onboard, but checking won't hurt.

If you're on 32 bit Vista Home Premium, download and install this. If you're on any other operating system, go here and choose the correct one.
