Virus? Poor start up.
Hello, everyone.

I'm currently having a major problem with my laptop that runs Vista. I downloaded a program that has crippled my computer. Everytime I attempt to start I get the traditional windows screen that asks me what to start up in [ie. Safe Mode, Normal Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, Safe Mode with Command Prompt]. No matter option I choose, I always end up getting a pretty blue screen.

I can't even see my files or my desktop. Any help that you guys could possibly give me I'd surely appreciate it.

What program do you think caused this?
You can try booting to XP cd and running checkdisk.

I would suggest when you reach the boot options screen, that you choose the option to not automatically reboot when an error appears, and then tell us the exact details of the error message - that will point right to the problem in most cases.

Vista also has a built in recovery option on the boot options screen, and within that option there is a menu item dedicated to scanning for boot errors - it may pay to explore that option too.
