Hey folks, I solve one problem and have another one creeping up behind me.

All right, so earlier tonight, I was cruising around the web and went to check a forum or something and my computer starts acting really odd, so I go and I look in the task manager, and I see so many taskeng.exe processes that I couldn't view them all, and my computer started going really odd so I rebooted and kept an eye on it. I've ran a virus scan and everything else to try and figure out what is going on.

I downloaded Process Explorer to look, and i'm watching as they continually crop up once more.

As I'm typing this more have shown up.

I have a hijack this log, and the screenshot of this happening as well, this is just insane, I've never seen this before.

I heard that there could possibly be an issue with User_Feed_Synchronization

as I read on http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/...7095&SiteID=17

when I went and searched Microsofts site - however, I do not know where to fnd the User Feed Syncrhonization as I looked where they had specified it would be, and I didn't see it.

This all started happening after I updated to SP1.

I could really use some help here before I go batty.

I"ve attached a screenshot of the timestamps of the taskengs and the like, I'm entirely unsure of what this is doing, and I need some help, please.

Look through your scheduled tasks and see what is set to run. Be sure to unhide hidden tasks in the menu so you can find them all.

What is scheduled to run at the times those pop up?

I have made sure that my tasks are all showing - but I can't find where the scheduled tasks are. I'm on the main window and I see Task Status, and Active Tasks, hwoever I can't find the ones where they are scheduled, unfortunately.

Could someone give me a hand, maybe a screenshot to show me where to go? Am I not looking at something properly?

Programs > Accessories > System Tools.

You probably have an infection, but looking at tasks is a place to start.

I have the Task Scheduler up but it doesn't show me when things are scheduled...

So far it's showing me at 10 task eng, and it only started me with 2 at startup.

Other than for that, I'm unsure of where to look to see what processes are doing what, and the more you mention it, the more I think you might be right about the infection.

Under the View tab, click to show hidden tasks. Then, click to show all running tasks on the right. Do this when you see a lot of those processes running to see what they are.

In the main window, look at Active Tasks at the bottom pane.

Solved by a reformat, apparently SP2 and my computer don't get along too well.
