Right click on the column bar at the top of the folder, (where it says Name, Date Modified, Type, etc...) click More..., press d, and find Date created. Put a check on it and click OK. Now it should appear in the bar that you right clicked on in the beginning. Click on it and it will sort by date created, either first to last or vice versa. Click again to switch it.

That means your computer's date is wrong, you selected the wrong option, or it really was created in 2004. The default is dependent upon the folder. What do you want to show up? It's not really important if something that originally showed up is no longer there if you never used it...

If you were to stop using all those 2 or 3 letters instead of the words, we would know what you are asking.

It would also help to know what you really want.
Each machine the settings get customized daily. Within Windows Explorer, each folder may have their own setting but if you change the setting (Sort) in another folder may in fact change this folders sort.
I have never seen where the new downloads were listed at the top, unless I had that folder in the "Detail" mode and the date column is with the new date at the top.

Can you take a screenshot of the folder your trying to change after following the instructions in my previous post? A tutorial for taking screenshots is here.

Sounds like you may have selected Date Modified instead of Date Created

And if you want to reset to the original settings, each tab in Folder Options has a Restore Defaults button. But the default is to sort by name as far as I know. The program you are using to download with may have a different setting for it's default folder, but that would only affect that one folder. You'd have to refer to the program documentation to see where/how to reset that, especially if it's a P2P app, as forum rules don't allow us to help with those type of programs.
