I'd still take it back. Any computer that has that much bloat doesn't deserve to be bought. Could you post some of things that you did in case someone with the same problem comes here? Also, what do you mean by

First of all make sure all drivers, windows vista is fully updated

I first made sure there wern't any programs i didn't need on my computer , restarted, uses CCleaner to clean registry , restarted used CCleaner to clean registry , deleted all files in my documents ect that i didn't need , deleted prefetch (C:\\windows\prefetch this is not recomented by everyone) , used windows defragmentor , mand sure no programs that were needed by windows were blocked at start up.

i think this is everything. all i can remember but i havn't had any errors since, i don't know computers much but i know enouth ,don't know how any of this would help but worth a try

Rob

Tune-up utilitys is a good program to use ( i wouldn't use the internet speed up utility in it those had problems with that on my computers) it is only a 30 day trail but it good while u have it

CCleaner seems to be a good program for registy and cleaning unwonted files and is free ( but u can donate if u wish , only used it for 2 days tho)

Ahh, well it's actually a bad idea to use those registry cleaners often. They cause problems and rarely fix them. In this case, I'm guessing the registry cleaner fixed the errors. But I guess as long as you backup your registry and know how to revert to the backup without using Windows, your fine. CCleaner has a built-in prefetch cleaner. I'm pretty sure deleting it won't cause any problems for anyone, it's just files that are created when you open a new program so the program opens faster the next time you open it.

If you are having no further problems, remember to mark your thread solved.

Right guys, I will explain all.

The host process that was failing was the audio service, the volume controls on the function keys of the samsung r60 conflict with the realtek audio driver that comes pre-installed on the laptop. When the host process stops you lose the ability to turn the volume up and down via the function keys and can cause media players such as winamp or windows media player to crash.

The problem is easily solved by either installing the latest realtek driver or just un-installing the current one and windows will install a generic driver on reboot.

The only reason I post this is because I came here looking for a solution and found nothing, when I sorted the problem without just guessing I thought I'd let you lot know how.
