Solved: Need help with computer
about 2 weeks ago i brought a laptop from pcworld after a day of use it starting coming with with errors (windows audio had stoped working, eventloger, windows defender), as i only just brought it i thought i would make it sure it had all updates ect a week later i took it back to pcworld they said this should not be happening on a week old pc and replaced it (i think only because i showed them screenshots of the error messages) . Now a week later with my replaced laptop i am getting similar error messages instead of taking it back again i thought i would seek some advice as i don't know too much about computers.

My computer Spec/info

Samsung R60 Plus

Windows Vista Home Premium Servive Pack 1 (32-bit operating Sytem)

Manufacturer: Samsung Electronics
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83ghz
Ram: 2.00GB

Futher Spec: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...rmationSection

The Error i am having the problem with atm

Title of error: Host Process for windows services has stoped working and was closed

Info: A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.
Windows will notify You if a solution is availble.

This error can stop the audio working and i think stops other things that i don't notice/use.

This is very anoying when watching/listening videos and audio.

please i need some help as this is getting anoying and i am happy with the laptop apart from the error. Have no clue why this is happening. Thanks in advance for your help

ask if you need more information.

and by the way the error seems to be random

How many of these were designed for Vista?
What I remember is that very few of them are.

the games , fireworks , dreamweaver are not for vista i think

but should this make such a difference to cause vista errors

I don't think any of those programs would conflict, although there is a chance. Click Start, right click on Computer, click Manage, click Continue when the UAC thing pops up, then expand the Event Viewer tree under System Tools. Expand Custom Views and click on Administrative Events. On the right, in the Actions window, click Save Events in Custom ... (I think this is the correct area, someone please correct me if I'm wrong). Save it as a text file and upload it on TSG.

It looks like the main errors are with Service Control Manager.

Did you pay for McAfee or did it come free with your computer? Do you use it? If not, just uninstall it. Now download CCleaner and generate a list of installed programs. To do this, download, install, and run it, then click Tools on the left side, then Save to text file... on the right. Now upload it (or just copy and paste) to TSG by using the instructions in my previous post.

I thinl you need to find another laptop as all of those errors make no sense at all and what on earth are all those parallel port attempts? Buy an HP or Dell.

Wow, Samsung computers are bloated... any one of those random programs that come preinstalled with your computer could be causing this. I also suggest that you send the computer back and get another more reliable brand.

thanks for your help
thank you for trying to help me , today i have been changing settings and checking all updates are correct , made sure the registry was ok and somehow no clue how but for the last 4 hours i have no error messages.

i have decided not to take the computer back , unless there is a error or little problem with it , as it is only 10 days old i should still have a week or so to check its all still working

thanks again rob
