explorer.exe not starting up.
I have a windows Vista and a sony VAIO laptop, bought mid last year. yesterday, i turned on my computer, typed in my password at the logon screen and then after it accepted my password, there was a 'my documents' window that was already opened AND i had no explorer, but just a bright blue background behind the open my documents window. i waited and nothing else loaded.i am able to start up explorer by using new task from task manager. but does anyone know how to fix this problem? highly appreciated.

i will upload a picture next time i log in.

If you have the windows vista DVD try putting it ( Windows can be on already or you can boot by the DVD to use this option ) and select the option repair install when the DVD setup loads fully and let it repair your windows installation.

Can you get anything else to run?
If so can you get to "System Restore" and go to a earlier restore point?
