Angry Solved: Add back Compress File to right click menu
Sometime ago I stupidly removed the "Send to Compressed Zipped File option.

Well, now I have need for that item and want to know how to add it back to the Right Context Menu?

Thanks.

Go here and download the reg file under the zip link in the table to your desktop, then double click it. You might have to right click and choose save link as to download it instead of opening in your browser.

Well, I tried to cut you loose too soon.

I've never used the compress file deal and when I went to zip a file and attach it to an email I couldn't find it. I checked on Vista search and think I figured it out but not really sure.

Does the compressed file stay in the send to folder?

Sorry.

Just tried a few files on Vista and it put them into a zip file in the same folder as the original files. When it was done, the zip file was selected and ready for me to change the default name (It had taken the name of the first file I selected and added .zip).

So, it should be in whatever folder you selected the file in. If you have extensions hidden you won't see the .zip part, but the icon should be of a folder with a zipper.

HTH
