Solved: Gateway ml6703 laptop wil not boot.
The laptop seems to power up but no bios shows and nthing comes up on the screen. I tried hooking up an external monitor nothing. I also got a boot cd and it looks like it goes out and looks at the cdrom but still nothing on the laptop screen or external monitor.

Hi and welcome.

Is there a history behind this problem? Is the laptop still under warranty?

No it had not been used in a couple of weeks and when I turned it on this is what it did and no it is not under warranty.

I just tried it and that didn't work I'm starting to think I lost the video portion of the lap top. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It could be. But, without opening it up, which I don't usually recommend for a beginner, it's safest to pay an expert It'll be cheaper in the long run. While they are inside, you may as well have them clean out the fans too
