Been Installing Window Update for 2 weeks...
Hi everyone,

I am having issues with the window updates for vista. Ive been installing them for the past two weeks. Ive installed just the failed ones, Ive installed all of them and everytime i do install them, startup repair happens and then they pop up again.

ive looked around on many different websites, but most of them just have it with xp and not vista. i have never had this happen before and im to the point where i am going to backup and reinstall windows.

can someone help me?

1. Go Start > Run.
2. In the box type REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL > Enter.
3. A message saying, "DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded" should appear OK.

4. Re-register the Windows Update DLL with the commands below

Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
Type or cut and paste the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml2.dll
regsvr32 qmgr.dll
regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll

Then, Type the following command in the open panel.

net stop WuAuServ

The computer may need to be restarted before the net stop command will work.

2. Go Start . .Run . . type %windir% . . Enter.
3. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold.
4. Go Start . . Run . . type cmd . . Enter.
In the open command pane, type:

net start WuAuServ

Now go to Windows Updates and see if it will install the Updates.
