HP laptop touch volume control is slow
hi guys i have a HP dv9033cl Laptop which has these buttons above the keyboard- such as volume, rewind, pause play, stop, fast forward and mute. When im listening to something and i wanna turn it down or turn it up it takes a long time and i have to hit it multiple times but on XP i can just slide my finger across once and it will be loud fast or quiet fast i wonder if anyone knows how to change the volume scroll speed.

This requires a driver update from the OEM (HP) of the machine, it is NOT a Vista item.
Check with the OEM of the machine and see if they have a update.

I have a HP pavillion laptop, and the volume control is also to slide the finger on the button multiple times. The off button is a one-step button, however. I do not know if it is Vista or HP issue. From the HP user manual:

Adjusts speaker volume. Slide your finger to the left to decrease
volume and to the right to increase volume. You can also tap the
minus sign on the scroll zone to decrease volume, or tap the plus
sign on the scroll zone to increase volume.

You checked for the VISTA updates for this make and model of XP machine. A XP driver will not be the same as a Vista driver. HP may not even provide a Vista driver your machine.

Just because your cousin bought a Vista machine that looks like yours, it has a different model number than your does.
