Windows Vista Startup Error
I recently installed some new updates for Vista, and then after starting up my pc again the next day, I'm configuring Update 3/3 0%, then All of a sudden, "shutting down", and the pc restarts, only to return with the same message, and to start again.

I've tried loading in safe mode, with all 3 options, all resort into update 3/3 0%, and a restart.

Can anyone help?

I cant get into the computer to uninstall the updates, the configuring updates happens during startup, and restarts before I even get to the log in screen

Thanks for the links, I guess I'll have to find a friend to burn the vista recovery onto a CD for me.. This old computer doesn't have a CD/RW disc drive, so I'll post back to confirm if its solved or not once I've done this.
