Did you have the scanner disconnected when you intalled the driver? Most applications install better if you run the software before attaching the hardware.

yes, I had the scanner disconnected when installingthe the Driver.

I downloaded the driver, then plugged in the scanner and windows found the driver and said that the scanner wa installed and ready.

opened up Smart panel and clicked on Scan to File and got message to download Driver.

Don't see camera wizard in File on photo Gallery

Windows says that scanner is installed.

Smart Panel says:

Unable to access the scanner because it is not ready or another application is using it.
Please make sure that the scanner is on and connected to your computer, or close all scanner applications.

When clicking on import from camera or scanner, get screen without any scanner listed.
Click refresh and still no scanner in list.

In most cases, you can run a scanner without ALL the scanner software installed ..
but you need the scanner's Twain driver installed for the computer to communicate with it.

If the scan n cam wizard can't see the scanner .. It means the Twain driver is not installed (or functional)
I'm kinda guessing here .. but maybe you need this ..
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...s&platform=All

If it were me .. I'd remove the software you installed and start with just the Twain driver..
then see if Scan n Cam wizard can run it.

Might be worth mentioning ... The scanner has to be turned on and connected for the Twain driver to see it.

I assume that USB cord is OK, it worked ok on the old computer and when I plug it in on this computer, the scanner comes on, and vista finds new hardware and proceeds to find the driver.

when I open Device Manager , I see Epson under other devices. I click on Epson and get screen that says there is no driver. I click on reinstall driver and specify to look for driver on my computer and give address for the Twain driver on my C drive.
Windows can't find driver.
