Vista Optimization and Switch Between Windows Option
I was wondering what the main things are I could do to optimize vista. I just bought a new laptop and its using almost 700 megs of ram. I was also wondering if there was a way to change the Switch Between Windows option. When I click on it, it brings up a bar with the different applications I have open and I can choose one (same thing that happens if you hit alt-tab). I've got a friend who has vista and when he clicks it, it brings up a kindve side view of all of the windows he has open and he can choose one. How do I enable this? Also, How do I make it so that when I hover over a link, a small preview box will pop up showing the page it links to? Thanks.

vista:
700 megs is very low for running vista, i would recommend upgrading to at least 1.5 gigs. the window switch you are looking for is a part of the vista areo theme. change you theme to vista areo in the selection personalize of the desktop context menu. this theme tends to take up a fair amount more ram than the bland non transparent one does, because of this, vista may monitor the ram usage. if vista feels your computer cannot handle vista areo, it will turn it off until enough ram is cleared up. this may be the problem with your system.

explorer:
its seems like what you are looking can be found in a plugin. here is a link for a plugin that is compatiable with firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...q=coolpreviews. i do believe the same plugin can be found for explorer and safari. the production site is: http://www.cooliris.com/
