Folder Views Changing
Hello.
I have recently been having a problem with my folders in Vista: they keep changing their layout.

It seems every folder keeps defaulting into list view, except for the Recycle Bin, which defaults to Tile View and Groups by Ascending. Even the Music, Picture and Video folders default to list view.

I tried resetting the folders, and every time I see they have changed I change them back to how I want them, but they just keep going back. I used to have the same problem in XP.

I am running Vista Ultimate x64. And ideas what could be causing it, and anything I can do to stop it?

Not an uncommon problem.

Here is a page that may help:

Thank you, that seems very useful. I did try looking around but I didn't really know the proper term for my problem, so it made finding it hard

Glad that worked and thanks for posting back. Maybe it will help others as well.

I don't know as though this had been fixed now

I did the steps in that link, downloaded and ran the registry file, and at first it worked fine. But now my folders are resetting themselves again

I really don't know what to do now. I tried re-running the registry fix, and restarted my computer, but the problems persist.

Does anyone know of any other fix that could help?

Don't lose any sleep over it.
Micro$oft has not been able to solve this issue, going back to Win 3.11.
