Solved: Vista reinstall chaos,neeed help plz.
My first post so hi every-one.
Just bought new Acer M1640, really cheap but does what i need,well did,lol.
Well i was happily surfing when the comp hung for no apparent reason,no bother i thought ill reboot,so i did.Right it reboots but instead of normal desktop i get ONE open folder (a Test drive unlimited folder in "my documents" from when i installed that game) and nothing else, the screen is black apart from the TDU folder.So i reboot both normally and safe mode and the same thing happens one folder and black screen behind.I decide a reinstall is the way to solve it and with that TDU folder open i use it to go to program files and start "E Recovery". Luckily it starts ok and i choose to restore to factory settings, all goes well until when it reads on screen with vista picture something like "Please wait while windows finishes loading on your computer" with the vista blue ring cursor spinning.Then it suddenly hangs the cursor stops spinning for about 3 or 4 minutes and it reboots and a box appears which reads " the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an enexpected error.Windows installation cannot proceed.To install windows click ok to retart computer and then restart the installation".A reboot wil get same result each time, and when i try booting from recovery disc made by E-Recovery it hangs with grey screen and white arrow ,just after loading "RAMDISK". To top it off i cant get the "command promt"
I know its long and boring but i really need help and advice.

Sounds like it has bad hardware. If you just bought it I'd be returning it or calling Acer for warranty.

Finaly got through to tech services and after following his advice which was holding Alt+F10 at Acer screen and from there choosing Reset to factory settings,all is now ok
Am gratefull to him, a nice guy in South Africa(where call centre is).
will change title adding "solved" as soon as i am able to.
thanks to the guy that replyed,his reply was what i was dreading but thinking
