Another program using modem instdriver

I am trying to load AOL VR on an ACER laptop. The load stops when the program trodeies to access aol (dial-up) saying the modem is being used by another program and it tells me the program is instdriver. I am unable to locate instdriver let alone delete it. This is a VISTA computer. Any ideas how to delete this piece of programming? The resulting stop ends with a blue screen with white bar code like markings.
