BSOD trying to install a dual boot with XP
Hello,

First apologies if this has already been asked, but for some reason the search function on this site isn't working for me.

I purchased a Gateway DX4640 with Vista Home Premium 64 bit pre-installed. I don't mind Vista, and my HDD is plenty big (500 GB) so I wanted to install XP Pro 64 as a dual boot.

However after creating a new partition (with about 175 GB's assigned to it), formatting it, and trying to boot the XP install disc, I get a BSOD immediately following the first screen of the XP boot (the one that looks kind of like the bios screen, where the system scans for eveything).

I hope somebody here may have a solution? If you need more details, please let me know?

Thanks!
