Startup failire - pointer and black screen
I have an Inspiron 1520 running Vista Home Premium and it refuses to start up. I get the Dell screen, the Microsoft Windows progress bar, then the mouse pointer appears just as if the logon screen was going to come up, but it doesn't. The mouse pointer moves around just fine, but nothing else comes up. Same thing happens when I try to start up in safe mode, and with last known good configuration.
I recently installed two new sticks of RAM, but I tried putting back the old ones and I get the same problem.
Startup repair can't find any errors. When I try to boot from the Vista disc and use the startup repair there, still no errors found. It looks like I'm going to have to do a factory image restore, but I'd obviously rather not do it unless I absolutely have to. Help please?

What you will have to do is get the disk that says, OPERATING SYSTEM. And then turn on your computer put the disk in (if nothing happens leave the disk in and restart it) and it will say boot with disk press whatever button it says to press and follow the instructiond in the manual, under REINSTALL.

WARNING: If you do reinstall it you will lose all your data on the computer and you will have to renstall everything you had on it. If there is important documents on it DO NOT do this and bring it to a computer clinic, ASAP.
