Hmm actually how do i do this? It seems this driver i downloaded is an .exe file.

I have included previously in a floppy and when i tried formatting it said that txtsetup.oem could not be found.

P31 is your motherboard chipset and it should not need any sata download in order to see a sata hard drive.

I am in the process of creating this now http://news.softpedia.com/news/Insta...F6-47807.shtml
butwhen i have to integrate drivers it wont recognise them since it is an .exe file.

How do i workaround this? :-(((

(also i clicked on the .exe to install but when i go to program files/intel/infinst/ i see nothing but a read me and license files. Where did it extract them?

Check this out. This might help.

You have to extract the .exe file in order to be able to integrate it with the XP CD.

Thanks Olle, but winimage doesn't work. It doesn't extract anything from the .exe .I mean i click on it to extract and just extracts the exe file. lol

I am so lost.... Or do i need to register this software (winimage) ??

Watch the video closely several times. It will solve your problem if you have the right drivers (that I can't help you because of lack of experience ). You extract the files with something like WinRAR not WinImage. And no you don't have to register WinImage. It is a 30 day tryout.

You need to take this somewhere to do or have someone in, it is really an easy project and we just can't see what you are doing wrong but you don't need sata driver and it should just install easily and the other drivers you need are readily available.

Ok let me explain again.

I am on my second old pc now trying to find a solution.
I downloaded this driver http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Dow...nuID=6&LanID=9 which is an exe file.
I drag it to the winimage screen like in the video and it doesn't extract anything. Why don't you test it yourself then if you think i am that stupid or just give me a more detailed information.

Each time i tried to format and install XP it will just reboot and start over.
The boot order i gave at bios is 1st CD, 2nd HD

I tried several times with no luck. So i guess i do need SATA drivers. Aren't this supposed to be included in the driver i downloaded?.

I don't have money to call a tech right now , otherwise i would have done it 2 weeks ago, instead of spending everyday trying to figure out how to do this myself.

I am telling you that i have the above driver , winimage won't extract it when i drag it in.

Nevermind...i'm just really frustrated now. Thanks anyway.

You downloaded the Lan driver...what does that have to do with sata drivers? The reason I said to take it somewhere is that you don't know what you are doing. There is no sata driver on that page which is fine as YOU DO NOT NEED ONE! THE SATA DRIVER IS IN THE P31 CHIPSET, ALREADY ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD. You do need the rest of those drivers once you get XP installed only.
Now one more time, if you are calling for the cd drive before the hard drive, then you must have a bad hard drive, bad cd drive, bad cd you are using or mismatched memory and if the drive is bad, that is not something you can fix yourself.

That's the ticket, sorry to be so brutal but you were reacting nervously and not listening.
