My computer has been restarting after approx. 30 min - 2 hours of inactivity for the past week or so. Initially, I thought this was some form of virus so I reinstalled Vista, did a low-level format and reinstalled Vista, and then installed a brand new Hard drive. Issue has not been resolved.

I get a BSOD when the computer shuts down that sites DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and mentions (paraphrasing doesn't stay up long enough) that something has attempted to access non-pageable memory.

Googling this error brought up suggestions like clean chasis, did that when the new HD was installed.

Driver errors were cited, but accessing Device Manager shows all devices working properly. Attempt to update drivers and nothing new appears.

Ran sigverif and came up with a lot of driver (100+) unsigned drivers, could this be the problem? they all appear to be nVidia drivers, but I have just gotten the latest driver from their site.

My computer is a HP Pavilion m7560n computer. Here are computer specs:

If you did a clean install and the problem continued even before installing new programs or drivers -- you are almost certainly looking at a hardware issue of some kind.

Has the memory been tested? (run: mdsched.exe).

Is there a particular start point to these BSODs?

You can open the Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools > Advanced and look at the Reliability Monitor >> Reliabilty index. There is a scrollable graph of dates there that records errors. See when these began and if they corresponded to any software or hardware driver installations.

Also >>

I can run a debugging utility on the dump files if you do this:

1 > create a new folder on the desktop and call it "dumpcheck" or whatever you like
2 > navigate to c:\windows\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to that folder. *this assumes 'c' is your boot drive, if it is not, subsitute accordingly
3 > close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
4 > use the "manage attachments" in the "advanced" reply window to upload that zip file here as an attachment.

This might point us to a 3rd party driver causing the error, if one exists for it.

Thanks Rollin',

I ran the memory diagnostic and came up with no errors.

In Reliability Monitor - System Stability Chart I have the following application errors - nov. 4 Explorer.exe, 5th Explorer.exe, 9th msnmsgr.exe. As well as Windows failures on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th. No hardware failures reported.

As for the start to this problem, it began when my wife plugged in an external hard drive to my computer to retrieve files. Since then I have completely overwritten the external drive and have not plugged it back in. The error now seems to occur most often if I leave uTorrent running and leave the computer. 3 times prior to the error Kapersky (my security suite) has blocked an unwanted intrusion (followed by the same BSOD), but most often I get only the BSOD.

All 3 are identical to this >>

BugCheck D1, {4, 2, 0, 90313c5e}

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\MRVW24B.sys, Win32 error 2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for MRVW24B.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for MRVW24B.sys
Probably caused by : MRVW24B.sys ( MRVW24B+8c5e )

MRVW24B.sys is a wireless LAN USB driver. I'm just not sure who owns it. Linksys, D-link, or Marvel -- it seems to come back to all of those vendors in Google a search >>

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...ys&btnG=Search

But you can certainly test by uninstalling and reinstalling it -- or try connecting directly without using wireless, if practical.

You also have to be wary of signal strength and interference issues. So testing closer to the router may be worthwhile as well.
