Thumbs down IPV4 DNS server keeps reverting to router's IP
Further to a previous post (http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vi...reverting.html), I'm still having this issue. The Vista IP config keeps reverting from "Obtain DNS automatically" (which I want) to the fixed address 192.168.2.1. Previously TerryNet advised that this may be malware, but since the target IP is a router one, rather than some compromised external address, I find this unlikely.

I'm guessing that the router is persuading Vista that it knows best. What troubles me is that to reset it manually I have to go through Vista's "Did you mean to do that?" process, but something on my machine can bypass that control silently. Maybe I'm being naive in thinking Vista's apparent security is real security, sigh.

Any more thoughts, anyone?
