Question Blue Screen of Death DVD/Game
Hi guys

I have a problem with DVD Drive/driver, every time I put in a DVD or a game i get blue screen of death and when windows finish rebooting it tells me this: "This problem was caused by NVIDIA nForce(TM) SATA Driver, which was created by NVIDIA Corporation. Go online to the NVIDIA Corporation website to download the NVIDIA nForce(TM) SATA Driver update (and then a link)"

But I just can't find this SATA driver update anywhere.
Any help will be appreciated.

There are 3 likely places to look.

1 > The motherboard site for the model.

2 > If an off the shelf system, the System Vendor's site for the model.

3 > possibly Windows Update, but this is a crapshoot -- won't hurt to check though. I think there might be a patch available.

Yeah, it looks like there was a hotfix offered at one time -- possibly not effective, which has been removed.

I don't know what to tell you -- except see if you can get a response from Nvidia.

Since the problem involves a DVD drive, these issues often relate to burning software drivers -- I would try removing any installed burning software and testing to see if it is resolved.

Also you can try a "clean boot" which might be an alternative test.

When did this problem begin? Was it that way out of the box, so to speak?

If the system was bought new, it must have worked originally didn't it?

Do you have SP1 installed?

So this computer did not have Vista on it originally? I know XP does not come with any Sata driver install -- they have to be installed at setup. But I believe Vista does.

Perhaps, rather than look specfically for the Sata drivers, you could reinstall or update the Nvidia NForce chipset drivers?

What is the motherboard model number?
