Windows Vista Configures Updates, Shuts Down, and Repeats Cycle. Help!

Help! My laptop was working just fine until yesterday. It usually configures updates and then after that, I would be able to log-in.
Unfortunately, yesterday, after it said, "Configuring Updates. Stage 3 of 3 0% Complete," it shut down and restarted the whole cycle.

I've read some forums about this, but they had no particular solution. Please help!
