Red face Solved: No sound driver
Recently installed Vista Business 32bit on my Sony Vaio VGC-VA10G. Yeah, I know, Sony doesn't list Vista Business as compatable with this model of Vaio but I thought I'd give it a shot. Vista found all my devices except for the integrated sound device. I believe that under XP I used a Sigmatel driver. Vista just lists it as "HD Audio Device". I've run a couple third party device scanners and they say there is a driver for it -- I'm too cheap to buy the programs. Anybody know what I might try for a driver?

Yeah, I tried that. Since Vista Business isn't listed for the Vaio VGC-VA10G I downloaded the driver for Vista Home Premium. When I run the install I get "This update can only run on Microsoft Windows Vista"

Basic? Sony's support page for this model lists only Windows XP and Vista Home Premium.

Then I would say that there do NOT support the sound driver for the Vista Business version.
Have you contacted Sony support and asked?
If so what did they have to say?

Yep, as I said in the original post it appears Sony does not support Vista Business for this model. But Driver Detective and Driver Scanner both assure me there is a compatable driver which they'll fetch for me as soon as I pay them $29.95. I was just wondering if I couldn't find this elusive driver myself.

Well bust my buttons -- who'd'a thought an XP sound driver would work under Vista? Thanks Joe! Thanks Dave!

I'll give Driver Max a try. Maybe it'll find something for the TV tuner card. Thanks again!
