Windows Vista to Windows XP
Hey everyone. I'm not exactly sure where to post this topic, so I'll try here first. I have an HP Pavilion Notebook, model dv6700. It came with Windows Vista installed on it. I have been having so many problems with Vista, and I would like to go back to Windows XP. I have a Windows XP disc and valid key that I can use, and an external hard drive to back data up on. My question is, other than formatting the drive, and partitioning it, is there anything else I would need to do to install XP? I have installed XP many other times on desktop PCs onto a new drive, but I've never installed it on a drive which had Vista on it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You'll want to go to HP support and make sure you can get all the XP drivers you need. I wouldn't attempt to install XP without them.

Nothing else special, formatting will clear the path for the XP install.
