Angry Help Clearing a Partition for Win 7
I don't even know where to begin, I just can't believe how retarded companies are... I don't even have control of my own freakin harddrive.

Ok, I really want to install Windows 7, but of course this laptop was shipped with 4 primary partitions already made, and apparently I cannot delete the ones I want to (go figure) Now apparently, Dell uses a whole primary partition for their "Media Direct" (astounding) and since their are already four, I am unable to create a partition for Windows 7.

1)Main C drive that I use as my main partition
2)Recovery drive that I don't want to delete because i've heard it could void my warranty (im planning on sending this thing in for repairs soon)
3)A hidden partition that is probably some system files
4)The dreaded 2.5GB Media Direct partition

Please, there must be some way to get rid of this. I already tried creating an extended logical drive, but it's useless since it will be unable to boot up Windows 7. So i'm pretty much a slave to my own Dell laptop unless I can delete the MediaDirect partition.

I've already attempted deletion in the Vista Disk management, and using EASEUS Partition Manager, and both won't allow me to delete it. I am just amazed that they would ship their laptops with ALL partitions used, leaving the user unable to use any for his/her own uses. I know there has to be some way, but I can't find it since I've been sitting here for about 6 hours just trying to get an open partition.

You could backup your data (always a good thing to do)
and use EASEUS to resize your windows partition to
allow the space you need to create a new partition.

One is ONLY allowed to partitioned ANY hard drive into 4 (FOUR) partitions, he already has 4!

Pure, I don't think you really want to get rid of the media direct without
realizing the possible consequences. I agree it should never have been
shipped with the media direct installed on a hidden partition.

The boot manager is divided between the recovery partition and the media
direct partition, both of the partitions are hidden partitions for a reason.

If you blow away the media direct partition, you will effectively have to
blow away the ghost partition as well because you will no longer be able
to access it.

The bios is also configured to recognize the hidden partitions, it will be
looking for the media direct partition.....

Well, I do know that as long as I don't start the laptop with media direct, aka small button next to the power button, then everything else runs fine. Media direct will even still work once you've started Vista, so it doesn't matter to me. Basically right now it's either

A) Being able to run Media Direct w/o running vista first
B) Windows 7

i especially dont want my key to run out before I get my other pc, so its def worth it.

well actually im in diskpart so lets see how it goes

Ah it doesnt work there either. There has to be some way
