ERROR 0x80070021 cannot access file because it is locked This seems to be a Vista problem as it happens on only the Vista system and not in 2000 or XP.
I have a backup batch that runs every two hours and it always fails to copy my Outlook.PST file. I get the following error: Quote: |
ERROR: 0x80070021 The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.
| Outlook is closed; but, when I look in Task Manager, it shows Outlook is running and I must shut Outlook down manually in Task Manager before I can copy the file.
Why does Outlook continue to run when I exit it (totally gone from taskbar and screen) and how can I correct this? |
