I need help creating a partition in Vista.
I am currently running Vista Ultimate 32-Bit. I am trying to create about a 10 gb partition to run Canonical's Ubuntu. When I opened up Disk Management it would only let me make around a 6 gb partion even though I had about 60 gb left on my hard drive. I defragged my hard drive after this, twice (first time not in safe mode, second time in safe mode), and I was only able to make a 240 something mb partion. Thank you for your help.

Hi and Welcome to TSG,
Have you considered running Ubuntu with Wubi? No need for partitioning but you get 'full' Ubuntu alongside Vista - choose which o/s at boot.

This from Wubi with link below:

Wubi is an officially supported Ubuntu installer for Windows users that can bring you to the Linux world with a single click. Wubi allows you to install and uninstall Ubuntu as any other Windows application, in a simple and safe way. Are you curious about Linux and Ubuntu? Trying them out has never been easier!

Inserted from <http://wubi-installer.org/>

WUBI is the best idea. Or use a different partitioner:

Paragon Partition Manager 8.5-- PPM Special Edition serial and free registration
CloneZilla GParted LiveCD (Complete partitioning and drive imaging/restoration tools)
SystemRescueCD
Gparted LiveCD
Parted Magic
