Question Vista New Memory Boot problem
When purchased my Computer came with 1Gig stick of Kingston KVR667D2N5 RAM I then added another 1GiG stick of ram for a total of 2 gig and it worked fine the two stick we not even the same brand. Then I decided to increase it to 4 gig by adding two more 1 Gig sticks. This time it froze at the during the Windows boot process.I tried every combination of ram sticks ? Tested all the ram no problems there ,but the only amount it will accept is two gig and no more.In the bios It recognizes the ram properly at 2,3or,4Gig but will not boot unless only 2 gig. Then I went and bought 2X2Gig stick Identical Kingston RMD2-667.Put both in same problem boot freezes at same spot Take one out Boot fine at 2 GiG again. All the memory has been tested and it all work fine but only in combination up to a maximum 2Gig of ram.Can anyone help me.Ive tried it all...Im beginning to wonder if it a boot problem with Vista as that is were its freezing during the window boot process I'll have to check the boot log.Oh by the way my maximum amount of ram my mobo will accept is suppose to be 8GiG so it should work with four Shouldn't it???Help!!!
