I have no sound in IE 8 or Firefox. I have sound everywhere else, my vlc and music and windows sounds all work fine. I have Realtek HD audio drivers installed. Before you make suggestions, let me assure you that I have tried uninstallation and reinstallation of the drivers, flash player, IE, Firefox, etc. I have also tried the registry fix that includes the wavemapper key, i have made sure that web pages could play audio, I have made sure that third party flash and other such programs were enabled, I have disabled all firewalls and antivirus programs that could possibly interfere, I've even tried the control panel settings where you click on "complete navigation...blah blah". Nothing works! I am running Vista x64, i was using IE 7 (which the sound did not work in either) and upgraded to 8 which still does not work. There is no sound from places such as YouTube or even on google there are no clicking sounds when navigating from one page to the next. Any suggestions>??
Oh btw I've checked the sound devices and everything is fine and working great everywhere else, just not online. I don't know if this will help, but when I access the internet from outside the OS using Express Gate, I can hear sounds on the net. Thanks.

Ok, it's been over a month and still no ideas? I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a little direction here, even longshots. Thanks.
